HBO’s Watchmen is set in a strange, remixed version of America, a world where Vietnam is the 51st state, where the country suffers from intermittent “squids showers”, and where its citizens use special telephone booths and telescopes to track their only superhuman, the God-like Dr Manhattan.
It’s also a world well known and well loved by comic and pop culture fans. So we created two unique immersive activations at America’s largest comic conventions, allowing fans to literally step inside that world.
Our blue Dr. Manhattan telephone booths utilized the very latest augmented reality technology to turn fans in San Diego into Dr Manhattan himself, before receiving exclusive Watchmen memorabilia.
And our massive immersive installation in New York - complete with Dr Manhattan booths, interactive telescopes, flying ships, food & drink from the storyworld and exclusive Watchmen-branded swag - became the most sought after ticket of the convention.
Watchmen had the best series debut on HBO's digital platforms since the premiere of Westworld in 2016. Watchmen’s linear telecast was premium cable’s most-watched new series debut in 2019.
